Louise Elizabeth Graham, 89, a longtime Ocosta resident and former employee at Ocean Spray, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the home of her daughter Judy Simera in Ocosta.
She was born on July 20, 1921 in Backus, Minnesota to William and Elizabeth (Spinnler) Harder. Her family moved to the Ocosta area when she was a young girl and she graduated from Ocosta High School.
On February 22, 1941, Louise married Gordon Graham in Aberdeen. He died in 1991.
Louise was a housewife and worked at various cannerys and Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. for 20 years, retiring in the early 80’s.
She enjoyed picking raspberries, clam digging, dancing, baking homemade breads, cheating at pinnacle and canasta and most of all, spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.
Louise is survived by seven sons: Gordy and wife Bernadine of Cosmopolis, David of Westport, Daryl and wife Patty of Ocosta, Lance of Ocosta, Steven of Ocosta, Gary and wife Tammy of Westport and Arvid and wife Tammi of Ocosta; two daughters: Judy and husband Tom Simera of Ocosta and Terry and husband Pat Whitlock of Aberdeen; a daughter-In-law: Kathy Graham of Ocosta; Thirty two grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Jones of Alaska and Cecilia Brooke of Hoquiam. Louise was preceded in death by two sons: Scott and Kenneth ‘Boo’ Graham; a daughter: Sherry Jones; four brothers: Francis, Tony, Bud and Roy Harder; two sisters: Leona Poukkula and Christine Minnick.
There will a time of visitation on Monday, March 21st from 1-8 PM in Fern Hill Funeral Home. Graveside service will take place on Tuesday, March 22nd at 11:00 AM at Fern Hill Cemetery with Chaplain David Monsen Officiating.
A Potluck Reception will take place following the graveside at The Ocosta Rec Hall in Ocosta.
