Judy L. Friberg, 71, Aberdeen resident and member of Central Park Neighborhood Church, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her home in Aberdeen.
Judy was born on January 25, 1943 in Aberdeen to Elmer and Martha (Mattson) Jellum. She graduated from Weatherwax High School and then attended Clover Park Voc-Tech College in Lakewood, WA.
On January 24, 1963, Judy married Alan Earl Friberg in Aberdeen. He died on June 11, 1980.
Judy worked for May’s Nursing Home in the 60’s and Grays Harbor Paper. She also worked at Grays Harbor Community Hospital form 1970-74.
Judy was a member of Central Park Neighborhood Church since 1985 and before that South Aberdeen Baptist. Judy was a woman of great faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and shared that faith in any way she could. Sometimes a smile, a word that always led back to God, a hug, a meal and never judging. It was often said, she never knew a stranger. She also adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Church and caring for people and being head of the prayer chain and the over 50’s group called The Road Runners. In her earlier days she enjoyed ceramics too.
Judy is survived by her sons: Joe Alan and wife Debra Friberg of Aberdeen, Alan Dale and wife Rene’ V. Friberg of Tumwater, WA and Ed and wife Jennifer Friberg of Plymouth, IN; daughter Martha Ann Friberg of Aberdeen; sister Mildred Ann and husband William Stewart of Montesano; Eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
There will be a time of gathering and reflection on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 10 AM to Noon at Central Park Neighborhood Church in Aberdeen, WA with a Celebration of Life starting at noon in the church. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Inurnment will take place later at Fern Hill Cemetery next to her husband Alan.
