Marjorie Peggy-Etta (Morris) Frazier, died Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the age of 100 at Olympia, Washington. She was born Friday, October 13, 1922, to Milo W. Morris and Rachel Ann (Daniel) Morris. Peggy was raised in Olympia and lived later in Seattle, Tacoma, Rhode Island, Guam, and Chehalis. She graduated from William Winlock Miller High School in 1940, and through the years assisted with all OHS 1940 Reunions.
On May 23, 1942 she married Wesley Tag Frazier of Tacoma, Washington. He died on May 1, 2010.
Peggy began her working career in 1941 as Secretary to Prottas and Levitt, Seattle. In 1942 she
transferred to the U. S. Army Engineers stationed in Seattle. During this time, Tag had enlisted in the U.
S. Navy and was overseas during WW II. On his return to the states at Melville, Rhode Island, she
worked for the U. S. Navy at the PT Boats station there. On October 13, 1943, her birthday, Tag was
honorably discharged from the Navy and they returned to Washington State, eventually settling in
Chehalis. On Tag's recall to Navy Service in 1952, she and the children, Mark and Laurel, went to Guam
where she worked at the U. S. Naval Station as secretary to the Chief, Naval Supply.
On return, she joined the Chehalis First Federal Savings and Loan as its Executive Secretary. A move was made to Olympia where Peggy became Administrative Assistant to Fred Dickson, Director of the new Department of Institutions. She remained in the position fourteen years through six consecutive directors, the last being Dr. Garrett Heyns whom she especially revered. Later she worked as Administrative Assistant to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC) for six consecutive directors (1968-1991). During this time Peggy traveled the state to various community meetings. She always felt she had had a hand in helping to bring parks and recreation facilities to various cities, counties and other entities throughout Washington. She was proud of the IAC and its accomplishments.
In 1972, Tag and Peggy traveled to Australia to attend court proceedings in the death of their daughter, Laurel, who had died from carbon monoxide poisoning in her apartment. Two of her friends also perished. There they made many friends and in later years several came to visit them in Olympia -- a legacy from Laurel.
In 1991 Peggy retired to the family home on Eld Inlet (Mud Bay) and became involved with her
grandchildren and later great and great great grandchildren, her church, and working to help those in need.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Olympia; active many years in the choir; assisted with many
receptions and other activities. Her main concern was helping the homeless and those needing care
and assistance. She was a member of the Masonic Order of Eastern Star, Association of Watch and
