Margaret Fradenburg

March 8, 1924 — February 19, 2011

Margaret Dawson "Peggy" Fradenburg, 86, a lifelong resident of Grays Harbor, passed away just before midnight February 19, 2011. Born in Aberdeen, Washington March 8, 1924, Peggy was the daughter of James and Ada (Dawson) Irving who immigrated from Great Britain in the early 1900s. She was raised in the family's country home in the Wishkah Valley. Peggy attended McDermoth School and Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen.

Peggy married Charles T. Fradenburg in 1941. They lived in Cosmopolis where they raised seven children. During World War II, while their husbands were at war, Peggy and her sister Irene shared a home in Aberdeen with their young sons. She had fond memories of that time. After the war, Peggy cherished summers at Kalaloch, Washington with her family. Kalaloch became heaven on earth for her family of nine. Throughout her life, Peggy was a gifted gardener, poet,seamstress and upholsterer. She was known to carry a good conversation with wit and intellect. Her favorite singer was Johnny Mathis.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1979, her son Patrick in 1991, her grandson Kurt in 1994 and her brother Donald Irving in 2008.

She is survived by a son:Chuck Fradenburg(June) of Redmond; five daughters: Wendy O’Connor, Los Angeles,Ca, Judy Hauser(Mike),Olympia, Janis Giese(Clark), Aberdeen, Mari Earl(Krefting), Seattle and Lisa Dawson, Bellevue; her sister: Irene, Oakland CA; twelve grandchildren: Todd, Kim, Brian, Keith, Angela, Eric, Tyler, Whitney, Jason, Venessa, Brie Ann, Jessica ; and six great grandchildren, Frances Bean, Ivie, Gracie and Ava Claire, Tyler and Sarah Lillie. Niece Peggy, nephews Stan and Warren, as well as friends Jim and Norma Ultican and Zane Winkle & family with whom she shared a special bond, also survive.

Peggy will be inurned with her husband, Charles, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Cosmopolis on a sunny day in spring at her request.
