Rosetta “Rosie” Marie Foshaug

Rosie was born November 2, 1928 to William and Cordelia (King) Leacock in Aberdeen, Wa. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1946. She passed away on May 12, 2011 peacefully at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam.

On March 22, 1947 she married the love of her life, Jack Foshaug. Rosie was a loving mother to her four children: Steven, Kenneth, Dennis, and Christine.

Rosie had a passion for bowling and held a national record for attendance without a single absence for 47 years 7 months. She held positions for several years in her local league as president, secretary and treasurer. She attended national bowling tournaments in Las Vegas, Baltimore, and Seattle. She was inducted into the Grays Harbor Women’s Bowling Association Hall-of-Fame on May 6, 1987.

Her love for gardening showed in the care she gave to her flower garden, especially her roses. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and watching the Mariners. Rosie also enjoyed traveling in her later years, to such places as London, Paris, and Germany, and trips to the eastern seaboard of the US from Boston to Savannah, including Tennessee and Orlando.

She is survived by her husband Jack, son Steve (Linda) Foshaug of Elma, son Kenneth (Nadine) Foshaug of Belfair, daughter Christine Foshaug of Aberdeen, daughter-in-Law Laura, brother Nelson Hudson, and five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cordelia, her brother William, and her son Dennis.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday May 17th, at 10:30 am at Fern Hill Funeral Home. Private burial to take place at Fern Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay-For-Life.
