Thomas “Tom” Allen Floch, 66, a deep-rooted Central Park resident passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
Tom was born on May 7, 1957, to parents: Harvey Floch and Dorothy (Camas) Floch in Aberdeen, Washington. Tom was raised in Montesano. He began playing sports at an early age well into his college years. He attended Montesano High School, playing baseball and football, where he excelled. He graduated in 1975, then went on to play baseball for Centralia College, eventually transferring to Grays Harbor College continuing to play baseball and graduating with an associate of arts degree. Tom lived in the Satsop area for a few years and attended Evergreen State College for some time before meeting the love of his life, Jamie Baylous. They married on December 1, 1982, in Reno, Nevada. Tom and Jamie found their forever home in Central Park and started building a family. They had a son and two daughters, but knew their family was not complete until they adopted an additional 6 sons. Their big loving hearts blessed them with 7 sons, and 2 daughters. Tom had success in many careers throughout his life and eventually retired from the pipefitting union, after quite a few years.
Tom’s greatest love was his family. He spent his summers camping with them at his property and was famous for his barbecued chicken and smoked salmon dip. He was also an avid outdoorsman, hunting for deer and duck and fishing for salmon and steelhead. He shared his skills and joy of this with friends and family. Tom also enjoyed watching professional sports, but more importantly made a point to attend all of the kids and grandchildren’s games and events. Tom was loved beyond words and will be missed upon any measure.
