Mary Catherine Fisher, 65, former Aberdeen resident, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
Mary was born on January 2, 1950 in Aberdeen to Alex and Florence (Thompson) Krawchook. She grew up in Aberdeen and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and then graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1968.
On August 13, 1979, Mary married Bob J. Fisher who resides at the family home.
She worked at Miller Jr. High School in 2003 as a nurse’s aide and before that worked at Duke Allen Gift Shop in Aberdeen. Mary’s pride came from being a dedicated mother and maintaining the home. She loved decorating for the holidays especially Christmas. Mary had an beautiful smile, big heart, and a laugh that was contagious.
She was a member of the Aberdeen Eagles, The Rose Society and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening while listening to music, camping at Hood Canal, and had a talent for arts and crafts. One of her favorite memories was spending time at the family cabin on Black Lake that her father built.
Mary is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bob Fisher of Cosmopolis; Daughters: Lisa Mehlhoff of Portland, OR and Lora Fisher of Lebanon, OR; a Stepson, Jim Fisher of Seattle; grandchildren: Jaxon Baker and Braden Baker; Brothers: John Krawchook of Olympia and Byron Womer of Aberdeen and a sister Judy Guernsey of Fife, WA. Mary was preceded in death by son, Brett A. Mehlhoff.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11 AM in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel
