Hazel Everett

Hazel Joy Everett, 81, a longtime Central Park resident and former Caregiver in Grays Harbor, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.

She was born on May 22, 1930 in Tigard, Oregon to Phillip and Verna Irene (Davis) Stadtman. She moved to Kooskia, ID and in 1937 moved to Willsonville, OR for 5 years. She then moved to Elma area where she graduated from Elma High School in 1948.

On June 26, 1948, Hazel married Dale Everett in the First Baptist Church in Elma. Dale died on September 13, 1999.

They lived in the Elma area until 1962, when they moved to Central Park where she has lived until her passing.

Hazel worked as a Caregiver for the State of Washington in Grays Harbor for 12 years. Before that she worked many years at Scott’s Craft and Candle in Aberdeen and at the Grays Harbor Country Club in the Clubhouse. Hazel also worked as the receptionist at Sundstrom Optical in Aberdeen and as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Nauman in Elma.

Hazel was a member of the Central Park Methodist Church for many years. She had a real heart for art, crafts and decorating. She loved to paint anything and everything from phones, to furniture, clothes even spray painting fields of flowers. She also liked to cook and was a helping hand in her families endeavors.

Hazel is survived by her children: Cheryl and husband David Gruber, Pam and husband Nick Wilson, and son Larry Everett, all of Aberdeen; Grandchildren: Sean and Valerie Blackman, Peter Blair, Nicholas Gruber, Anthony Blair, Haley Wilson, Curtis Everett and Gabby Wilson; Great Grandchildren: Micah & Olivia Blackman, Sativa Anderson, Isaih & Kellan Blair; Sister, Phylis and husband Quentin Boyer, Sister-In-law, Bonnie and Husband Clifford Harris, Nieces and nephews: Charles Boyer, Dennis Boyer, Morris Boyer, Kim Burnside, Cynthia Starks, Rex Harris and Marie Boyer; Her beloved pets: Dog Ringo and her cat Pretty Girl. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debbie Everett.

There will be a graveside committal on Saturday, May 26th at 2:00 PM in the Satsop Cemetery where she was inurned with her husband Dale. A celebration of her life will follow at the Microtel Inn & Suites, 800 E. Main, Elma, in the Gathering Room.
