Bertha Ellen Elliott, 95, Aberdeen, resident and former music specialist and Graduate of Weatherwax High School in 1936, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015.
Bertha was born in Aberdeen on September 26, 1919 to Hjalmer and Olga (Pollack) Heino. After graduating from Weatherwax, She married Arthur Brueher. He died in 1986. She went to Grays Harbor College and then to Central Washington College where she graduated in 1973.
In 1972, Bertha married Lester Elliott. He resides at the family home.
They moved to Wenatchee where she taught music in the Wenatchee School District.
In 1988, they moved to Yuma, AZ where she was a private music teacher and jammed with the local musicians. She moved back to Aberdeen in June 2014.
She played the violin mainly, but could play just about any instrument made. She always played in a Quartet or symphony where ever she was. She was into a good diet of health foods and enjoyed working in her garden.
She is survived by her three sons: Henry (Darlene) Brueher, Robert (Marlene) Brueher and Douglas (Julia) Brueher all of Aberdeen; two daughters: Ann (Charles) Cary of North Cove, WA and Gail Ryerson of McKenna, WA; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many more great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Ryerson.
