David Davis

July 29, 1950 — February 27, 2014

David Bruce Davis, 63, lifetime Wishkah Valley resident, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

David was born on July 29, 1950 in Aberdeen to Sol P. and Bernice (Holder) Davis. He attended Wishkah Valley High School before going in to the logging industry. He was a yarder engineer who worked for various logging companies on the harbor, including Carter Logging, Inc. of Montesano where he was currently working. He also was a co-owner of Dead Horse Inc., and Coastal Hydraulics.

On November 4, 2000, David married Frances ‘Francie’ (Baretich) Dineen in Wishkah Valley. She survives at the family home. Before that, David had married Carol (Kunkle) Comstock. She died in 1999. David was first married to Linda (Playter) Clevenger. They later divorced.

David was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Montesano Aerie 363, and Stump Busters. He also liked to dig clams, hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, being outdoors, races, and teasing the grandkids.

David is survived by two daughters: Lisa and husband Gerald Hill Jr. and Shannon and husband Adam Barra; stepson, Greg and wife M’chele Dineen; stepdaughter, Ann and husband Steve Szolas; Grandchildren: Katie (Hill)Wareham, Megan and Lindsey Hill, Madasonn Barre and Mason Dineen all of Wishkah Valley; Sisters: Cheryl Davis and Geraldine Swanson both of Aberdeen. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1 PM in the St. John’s Cemetery, Wishkah Valley. A celebration of life will follow at his daughter Lisa’s Home in Wishkah Valley.

The family suggests that donations be made to Wishkah Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 4641 Wishkah Rd., Aberdeen, WA 98520.
