Nema Loy (Jewett) Culver, 90, of Aberdeen, WA died peacefully at her home on August 15, 2024.
Nema was born on August 29, 1933, in Elma, WA to Keith and Amy Jewett. She was the oldest of eight children.
Nema was an avid reader and crossword puzzle master. She was known for her cooking skills, turning anything awful like old tough deer or any seafood that was brought home into something delicious. She was involved with the Motorcycle Club.
Nema lived a very fulfilled life, especially when it came to her grandkids. They remember the excitement of having a sleepover, which always meant a bath, stories read in bed snuggled up to Grandma and waffles with homemade strawberry freezer jam. For many of the grandkids, summers meant a trip to Enchanted Village or a stop at Chuck E Cheese. She provided nothing but love and care to her family in both difficult times of hard pregnancy and joyful times of her great grandchild’s first steps. Everyone will remember the moment they first heard her use a curse word and the pure shock and amusement that they felt.
Nema was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Amy Jewett; sisters, Sherri Gross and Leta Burgess; brothers, Glen Jewett, George Jewett, Keith Jewett, and Gerald Jewett; sons, Brian Hudson and Boyd Hudson Jr.; and great grandchild, Gabriela Orellana.
Those left to remember her include her brother, Toni Jewett of Aberdeen, WA; daughters, Robin Hudson of Hoquiam, WA and Joni Hudson of Aberdeen, WA; son, Kevin Hudson Sr. of Tukwila, WA. Her 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as all the bonus grandkids that got to call her Grandma.
As per Nema’s wishes, there will be no service. She will be inurned at the family plot at Satsop Cemetery. Please take a moment to offer condolences to the family or share memories at www.fernhillfuneral.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, WA.
