David Chilcott

February 21, 1936 — September 7, 2015

Ten year Copalis Crossing resident, David L. Chilcott, 79, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, Monday, September 7, 2015. David was born in Russell, Warren County, Pennsylvania on February 21, 1936 the son of Walter and Marcelyn (Christy) Chilcott.

David graduated from high school at Russell in 1954 and then attended Penn State University to play football. He would enter the US Air Force in 1956, making a 20 year career of his service.

On November 15, 1958 he married Viola Irene Bushman in Frankfort, Indiana. He retired in 1976 and they traveled the Western United States. They would come to Pacific Beach in 1989 and would stay in the area, buying a home at Copalis Crossing in 2005.

David enjoyed fishing, hunting, bon-fires, bowling and pool.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Viola, of the family home at Copalis Crossing; two sons: Walter Chilcott, Crestview, FL and Andrew and wife Fay Chilcott, Hertford, North Carolina; two daughters: Rosemarie and husband Jerry Pflieger, Rock Springs, WY and Gwendolynn Childs, Sedro-Wooley, WA; a sister: Jean Bules, Calimesa, CA; and also 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A family gathering will be held at a later time.
