Patricia Caskey

February 10, 1928 — November 9, 2012

There’s one more angel in heaven today. Mrs. Patricia June Caskey, a lifelong Harborite, passed away after a brief illness, at her home surrounded by her family on November 9, 2012 at the age of 84.

Pat was born to Ervin and June (McGhee) Boettcher, February 10, 1928 at Aberdeen’s St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born the youngest of five children. (Albert, Harold, Joy and half-brother Melvin- all deceased) Pat graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1947. Pat’s first job was at the B-Jou Theater and then at the Weir Theater, before going to work for Dr. Hardy. (Her next job, the love of her life was raising her children.)

Pat married Gerald (Jerry, Cass) H. Caskey on June 16th, 1951 in Aberdeen. Gerald passed away on August 8, 1981. Together they had 4 children, 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

Pat was a good looking gal, being very active in sports, and was quite the artist in her day. Pat loved to work in her garden, cultivating beautiful flowers. She was an avid sun bather, a bowler, a square dancer and was an awesome Ping-Pong player. Pat enjoyed bicycling, swimming and especially singing and dancing. Her and Dad were like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire on the dance floor. That’s where they first met. Pat loved to sing Patriotic and old Big Band songs. She always loved to laugh, had a great sense of humor, and would say “Laughter is the best medicine there is.” She was also an avid Seahawks fan and Huskies too. She and her husband had season tickets for both.

Besides the love of her life, her greatest love was for her children. She loved her kids, grand and great grand kids. They were the pride of and joy of her life.

A gracious woman, she never said a cuss word, ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’ in conversations.

Pat had a deep faith in God, and was at peace in her final days, wanting to go home and be with her husband once again.

Full of life, and now eternal life, she will be missed, but never forgotten.

Pat is survived by sons: Kevin H. (Barb) Caskey of Aberdeen, Kelly J. (Marie) Caskey of Cosmopolis; Daughters: Kerri L. Jones of Aberdeen, and Kandi (Ron) Johnson of Hoquiam; Grandchildren: Andrew Paul Johnson, Alexys Marie Johnson, Brodey Lee Jones, Brett Thomas Caskey, Jamie Marie Zeigler, Jordan David Caskey, Kasey Lee Caskey, Katelyn Marie Caskey, Kevin Paul Caskey, Kori Patricia Phillips, Krista Laine Kersker, and Seth Adam Johnson; Great Grandchildren: Addison Jo Kersker, Alyssa Caskey, Annika Leigh Zeigler, Jack Brian Phillips, Jade Marie Caskey, Kasie Caskey, Kyann Kay Zeigler, Paige Lynn Phillips, Payton Leigh Kersker, Morgan Laine Kersker, Tyler Jay Caskey, and Tessa Marie Caskey. And a thank you to the hospice nurse, Kim Bair.
