Maxine Campbell

August 4, 1923 — November 23, 2014

Maxine Charlotte Graham Campbell passed away on 11/23/14 in Bellevue, WA. She was born August 4, 1923 in Pacific City, WA. Her parents were Ralph and Hazel Graham from Copalis Crossing. She was married to our Dad Gail B. Campbell for 64 years before his death in 2006. They raised 4 children and taught us how to work and have fun at the same time.

In 1957 they started building duplexes for future rentals with the assistance of 4 hardworking kids rewarded for our work by each of us getting a popsicle ($.05 each) from the store across the two lane highway when we were done for the day. It was wonderful!!

Our folk's generation was amazing, learning how to survive with very little, but didn’t know it. We had a loving family that worked together for many years.

After raising her children, Maxine worked at Swanson's for 29 years enjoying great times with wonderful friends she met during her time there. The Swanson's brothers were wonderful people who cared for their employees. After retirement Maxine volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce and at the Community Hospital. She exercised every day and maintained all 14 rentals homes at the same time.

She was amazing and famous all at the same time as for the past 40 years she and her daughter made baby quilts giving away over 932 baby quilts to family, friends, customers, strangers, etc. Her legacy will live on as she sewed a good inventory of quilt fronts for future babies.

She was a woman who was filled with God's love being a kindergarten school teacher at the First Baptist church in Aberdeen. She touched so many lives through the years and those who knew her know this.

Maxine and Gail helped to start up Camp Bethel with the help of Weyerhaeuser who donated bunk houses from old timber cutting years ago. Many campers enjoyed wonderful experiences, blessed experiences at Camp Bethel along with their children. Life was good

Maxine is survived by her brother Jim Graham (Judy) in Eugene, OR. Maxine (Pex/Pinky) is now with brothers Bob (State auditor for 28 years), Mooney, Darrell, and Donald enjoying a wonderful time together running and young again in heaven. She is survived by son’s Terry (Nancy), Bob (Raenette), Dick (Peggy), and daughter Nancy and 7 grandchildren (Kelly, Todd, Graham, Ryan, Beth, Tim, and Emily) along with 8 great grandkids.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be given to the Aberdeen Union Gospel Mission.

The memorial service will be held at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen, WA. on Thursday December 4th at 12:00. The address is 2212 Roosevelt St. Aberdeen, Wa 98520. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Maxine Campbell, please visit our flower store.
