Roy Lee Bush, 84, a longtime resident of Aberdeen and former owner of Bush Plumbing in Aberdeen, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Montesano Health & Rehab Center in Montesano.
Roy was born on November 25, 1926 in Pound, Virginia to Willie and Fannie (Sizemore) Bush one of twelve children.
On March 20, 1945, Roy joined the Army and was stationed in Italy. He was then transferred to Ft. Lewis where he met Helen Walkoski. Following his discharge in Maryland he returned to Washington, where on August 12, 1949, Roy married Helen. She resides at the family home.
Roy owned Bush Plumbing in Aberdeen for many years and had been a member of The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for 45 years.
Roy enjoyed fishing, traveling and camping in their RV on the weekends. He always walked Morrison Riverfront Park and enjoyed feeding the squirrels. He spent every morning at McDonald’s with his friends for coffee and he never missed one of his grandkids baseball games.
Roy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Bush of Aberdeen; a son Jim Bush of Lacey; a daughter, Diane and husband Paul Brockavich of Aberdeen; five grandchildren: Jamie, Christopher, Josh and Tyler Brockavich and Lindsy Bush; also five great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service with Military Honors on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
