Beverly "Bev" Jean Carter

Beverly “Bev” Jean Carter (McCracken) aged 97, passed away on November 5, 2024, in Lacey, Washington. She was born on December 8, 1926, in Salem, Oregon.

Bev graduated from Montesano High School and later attended Washington State University. She worked at Bayview and later retired from the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office. Bev and Howard enjoyed the outdoors, deer and elk hunting, as well as salmon fishing at Sekiu. They spent all their time enjoying each other's company. The family spent many happy times up the Wynoochee Valley.

She leaves behind her best friend and husband of 77 years, Howard Carter; daughter, Janice Jones; and granddaughter, Kourtney Jones. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Viola Fay McCracken, sister, Mary Hayden, and son, Tom Carter.

In lieu of services, the family kindly requests that any charitable contributions be made to the Montesano Fire Department in her memory.
