Virginia L. “Ginny” Becker, 85, a lifetime resident of Aberdeen and Cosmopolis, died at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Aberdeen, Wednesday, August 7, 2013. She was born in Aberdeen June 19, 1928, the daughter of Clarence and Artlea (Wilson) Fulbright. She was a graduate of Weatherwax High School in 1946.
Ginny had worked as a waitress and had worked many years at the Werta Restaurant and at the VFW in Aberdeen.
She had married Allen Hedman in 1947 and they were divorced in 1970. She then married Harry Galloway in 1971. Mr. Galloway was a Master in the Merchant Marine and Ginny had gone with him on some of the voyages, one lasting 6 months ferrying a zoo to India. During this time she had lived in Arizona for several years. Mr. Galloway died in 1986. She was later married to John Becker and they were divorced in 2008.
Ginny was a member of the Aberdeen Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars. She also enjoyed baking bread, sticky buns, cookies and pies. She would also crochet.
She is survived by a daughter: Julie Frye, Lake Havasu, AZ; three sons: Larry Hedman, Sebastopol, CA, Steve Hedman, Lake Havasu, AZ and David Galloway, Lakewood, CO; and also 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Martin.
The will be no formal services. Inurnment will take place with the family in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
