Born on May Day, May 1, 1936 to Rasmus Haukeli and Violet (Johnson) Haukeli, Gloria passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, May 29, 2023.
Deeply rooted in Aberdeen, specifically Central Park, Gloria was a dedicated wife to Bill, and loving mom to her surviving children: Randi, Tom, and Jon (Colleen).
She was forever proud to have been chosen Miss Football in her senior year at Weatherwax High School, and was delighted to get a job at Pacific Northwest Bell after graduation. Once her children came along, Gloria stayed at home to raise them where they were well fed and well loved. She was a fabulous baker and would often have doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, chocolate eclairs, and various other confections warm from the oven for after school snacks. She began her second career at Grays Harbor Country Club where in addition to waitress duties, she became the party planner. She thrived in her ability to meet the needs of her clients and took great pride in her work there.
Including her children, Gloria is also survived by her 2 brothers: Jerry (Shirley) Haukeli, and Tom (Sharon) Haukeli; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many. She requested no funeral or memorial services be held. The family asks that you please remember Gloria as the fun loving woman she was and indulge yourself with a sweet treat in her honor. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
