Lisa Marie Anastasi, a seven year resident of Aberdeen, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia, Monday, November 26, 2012. She was 45. Lisa was born December 28, 1966 in Spokane, WA, the daughter of William J. and Judith G. (Butler) Anastasi. She graduated from Central Valley HS, Spokane, in 1985, and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in 2000.
Those who knew Lisa, even briefly, would tell you that she was a force to be reckoned with. Warrior, healer, teacher, nurturer, advocate…Lisa touched many lives and had a profound effect on everyone she met. She was never afraid to tackle anything, especially if she believed that there was an injustice involved. Whether it was creating and building a sustainable farmstead, giving massage, righting wrongs, teaching kids, being a step-mom, or dancing, Lisa put all of her energy into everything she did.
Lisa devoted her life to serving and helping others. She has been a counselor, a social worker, a special education paraprofessional, a licensed massage therapist, and most recently developed a therapeutic school on her farm.
Lisa is survived by her companion of twelve years, George Solomon, Aberdeen, currently serving in Afghanistan, and his daughter, Leah Solomon, Tacoma; a brother, Paul J. Anastasi, Spokane; and her father, William J. “Bill” Anastasi, Spokane. Her mother, Judith, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 6PM, 21 Dec 2012, at the Fern Hill Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.
