Obituary for Dale Keith Andrews Sr.

Dale Keith Andrews, Sr., 68, Cosmopolis, WA resident, ordained Baptist Minister and a Councilman for the City of Cosmopolis, passed away on March 16, 2021 at Virginia Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
Dale was born on July 19, 1952 in Miami, Florida to Wade Elmer and Betsy Ann (Sorrell) Andrews. He grew up in Miami and graduated from Miami Carol City High School in 1970. He then attended Miami Dade Jr. College and the University of Miami.
Dale worked for Bell Telephone South from 72-85 as a cable splicer. In 1985, he became “Mr. Mom” at home, taking care of his two kids. In 1988, he joined Liberty Bible Institute in Lynchburg, VA and became an ordained Southern Baptist Minister in April 1993.He served as minister of 1st Baptist Church of Ellenwood, GA from 1988-99. He also worked as Chaplain at Henry County Medical Center in Stockbridge, GA form 1994-2000.
Dale entered the Center for Visually Impaired in 2000-2001 and received his Basic Studies Degree. He then attended the Atlanta School of Massage and earned a degree for Massage Therapy and Deep Clinical Massage. He practiced for the next four years.
Dale started to lose his eyesight in his right eye due to Eyeritis in 1973. By 1980, he had to have his right eye removed. Two years later his eyesight in his left eye declined so much that he was legally blind and by 88’ was totally blind. An operation brought back some of his sight, but was again totally blind by 2006.
In 2004, Dale met Dawn Makos at Pilot Dogs Inc. and followed her to Cosmopolis, WA and on March 31, 2005 they were married in Lacey, WA.
Dale was a member and Associate Pastor of South Aberdeen Baptist Church, a member of their Worship Team; President of SIGHT (Sight Impaired of Grays Harbor Together) an organization started by his late wife Dawn Andrews; He served on the Hazardous Mitigation Committee for Cosmopolis and also currently serving as a councilman on the City of Cosmopolis Board for the last 4 years.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Brandon) Taylor of Huntsville, AL and a son, Dale K. (Anissa) Andrews Jr. of Locust Grove, GA; a brother Randall (Bethann) Andrews of Jacksonville, FL; Grandchildren: Hailey, Addison and Collins Taylor; In-Laws, Ron and Candice Makos of Cosmopolis, WA; Sister-In-Law, Kerry Fuller of Aberdeen, WA; Nieces: Madi McKay of Cosmopolis and Allyson Andrews of Jacksonville, FL. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Dawn Andrews on July 23, 2011.
A graveside service for Dale was held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cosmopolis, WA.
