Obituary for Erlene Mae Beckman (Briggs)

Erlene Mae Beckman, 78, has passed away peacefully at home in Elma, WA on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
Erlene was born on May 25, 1941 in Montley, MN to Earl and Nettie (Brown) Briggs. They moved to California and then to Yakima, WA where she graduated from Davis Senior High school in June 1960. She moved to Renton area in 1968 and then to Alderwood Manor in early 70’s. In 1974, she moved to Snohomish, WA and then Marysville, WA. She later move to Granite Falls and then to her daughters home in Elma, WA four years ago.
In June of 2000, Erlene married Joseph Beckman. He died eight and half year ago.
She has worked as clerical for The Department of Social and Health Services at Smokey Point and other department for the State of Washington in Everett and Seattle for 20 years until she retired. She was a Golden Eagle Member of the Granite Falls Eagles Lodge, Aerie 3358 and was a Past Madam President. She enjoyed crocheting-knitting and crafts, reading (Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb), gardening and dancing.
Erlene is survived by daughters: Debbie Birks, Theresia Rieman and Marsha Muggy; Son In-law: Terry Heck; Step-sons: Kenneth Leroy White, Leon White, Joseph (Diana) Beckman and Doug (Jan) West; Step-daughters: Angela (Tracy) Cosson, Rachel Blakeley, Wanda (Dan Terrian) Lehman and Stacey (Derek) Holyoak; Brothers: Dennis (Waunda) Briggs, Darrell (Marjie) Briggs and Wayne Briggs; 26 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents Earl and Nettie Briggs, husband Joseph Beckman, infant siblings Robert and Myra Briggs, son-inlaw Kenneth Birks, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
