Obituary for Dixie Ann Iosbaker (Tracy)

Dixie Ann Iosbaker, 81, long-time Aberdeen resident and Office Administrator for the Aberdeen Eagles, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, WA following a prolonged illness.
Dixie was born on October 18, 1937 in Red Willow, Nebraska to Howard Virgil and Irene Ramah (Jerome) Tracy. After a few years, her family moved to McMinnville, Oregon and then to Aberdeen when she was in the third grade. She graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1955.
Dixie worked in the Administrative Office at the Aberdeen Eagles for over 30 years and retired in 1993.
On September 29, 1984, Dixie married Larry ‘Joe’ Iosbaker who passed away on August 31, 2018.
Dixie was very active in the Eagles. She volunteered for many of their activities and enjoyed helping during dinners at the club. She also enjoyed spending time at Wynoochee Wildwood in the Eagles camping club. Dixie loved to bake and passed along that tradition to her grandchildren – her kitchen was filled with laughter and a LOT of flour during the holidays – no counter was without a special creation! She also enjoyed word search puzzles and watching wrestling on TV with the kids. The number one priority in Dixie’s life was her children/stepchildren and secondarily was her grandchildren.
Dixie is survived by sons: Tony (Katie) Petrina of Elma and Thomas (Tami) Petrina of Lake Tapps; a daughter, Teran (Robert) Haase of Olympia; Step-sons: Gregory (Tamara) Iosbaker of Benton, AR and Eugene Iosbaker of Aberdeen; Step-Daughters: Tania (Mark) Cox of Buckley and Donna (Paul) Matthews of Austin, TX; eight grandchildren: Seth, Aaron, Brett, Thayer, Allen, Ty, Makaili and Madison; one great grandchild, Fitz. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Tracy and two sisters, Marie Avery and Arlene Wright.
There will be a time of visitation and viewing on Saturday, December 8th from 9-10:45 AM at Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel. A reception will follow in the Dorothy Mann Reception Room at Fern Hill.
