on June 28, 2018 at 92 years old. The oldest of five girls, she was born in Arlington, WA on July 16, 1926, the daughter of Hugo and Josephine (Winkler) Nordstrom. She moved to Aberdeen when she was 14 to stay with family.
In 1945, Peggy graduated from Weatherwax High School where her focus
was banking. Later in life she earned many credits in accounting from Grays Harbor
Community College. During her long career in banking, Peggy worked for Aberdeen Federal and Seattle First National Bank as a loan officer and finally for Bank of America until she retired.
Peggy married Leonard Werner of Aberdeen in June of 1947. They were married for 45 years. After Leonard’s death in 1992 she married John Quick in 2000 and he passed away in 2007.
Peggy enjoyed spending her free time with friends, playing pinochle, and making trips to visit her daughters and grandchildren. She was known for her baking and cooking and her impeccable sewing skills. She was an active member of the community and gave generously of her time in church activities, charitable work, and the local senior center.
Peggy and Leonard are survived by their daughters Linda Werner, Seattle and Barbara Werner, Bellingham; two granddaughters: Mara (Jorrod) Avery, Lake Stevens, WA and Shauna Werner, Bellingham; and a great-grandson Micah Avery, Lake Stevens.
