Obituary for Edward William McBride

Edward William McBride, 77, Wishkah Valley resident and former logger for Meyr Brothers Logging, died April 16, 2018 at his home.
Edward was born on February 22, 1941 in the lighthouse on the coast near Florence, OR to Edward Harold and Royal (Phillip) McBride. He lived in Junction City and Eugene, OR working with his father and grandfather while growing up. He attended Aberdeen Schools for a while when he lived in South Aberdeen. He then went to Port Angeles where he finished school. He then worked at shake mills and logged in Alaska, Washington and northern California. When he was 25, he moved to Aberdeen from Alaska and went to work logging in the area.
On October 7, 1967, Ed married Terry Lynn Iverson in Aberdeen. She resides at the family home.
In 1976 he returned to Alaska to work the logging camps and for Valentine Logging during the summers and would return to Aberdeen and work for Meyr Brothers Logging during the winter until they closed. He then worked to Friend and Rikalo as a welder from 1995 til his retirement in 2005.
Ed was a member of the Aberdeen and Hoquiam Eagles, Elks and Moose lodges and the Central Park Lions. He enjoyed going to car races, watching sports, camping, traveling and care rides.
Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years, Terry Lynn McBride of Wishkah Valley; a son, James Edward ‘Jimmy’ McBride of Aberdeen; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Allen of Wishkah Valley; a sister Evon May of Oregon; grandchildren: Mariah Matthews, Kenneth Bradly Allen, Jonathan Allen, Zackary Allen and Sadie McBride; 2 great granddaughters.
There will be a celebration of life for him later this summer.
