Condolence: My condolences to the family. As a Reserve Police Officer, I rode with Bob who taught me patrol at night. He was a patient guy with lots of experience. One night, I was asking about catching burglars. He passed on that catching a burglary in progress was much better than about anything, because they are rarely caught in the act. Just then, he stopped the patrol car and said, "Listen! Someone's prowling around out there!" I had no idea how he knew, but he called for another unit and a block away in an alley, caught a car prowler in the act. We always liked Bob, he was a good guy and reminded us about the human side of police work.
Condolence: My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I grew up in Aberdeen with Bob and his brothers as good friends - we pretty much lost touch when we went into the service in the sixties and I made a career of the Army and government service.
