Obituary for Teresa Lee Miller (Reeves)

Teresa Lee Miller (Reeves)
Teresa Lee Miller, 56, Aberdeen native and commercial fishing partner with her husband Dick Miller, died Friday afternoon, April 20, 2018 in an automobile accident on Steamboat Island Rd.
Teresa was born on August 20, 1961 in Aberdeen, WA to Richard Gene and Sharon Mae (Herrick) Reeves. She attended Aberdeen schools and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1979 where she was on the Dive Team and together with Moreen Morsey, they started the Jazz Cat Drill Team. She then went to Grays Harbor Junior College for two years and was a member of the Cheerleaders team while there. Then she went to Washington State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Communications in 1983. She then interned for a year at a Yakima TV station before going to Tacoma where she worked for KIRO TV 7 and then for KSTW TV 11, selling commercial time spots. She then went to work for KING TV 5, working on corporate time spot sales and was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for KING 5. She retired in 2005.
On February 15, 2003, Teresa married the love of her life, Richard ‘Dick’ Miller in Ocean Shores, WA. Following her retirement from KING 5, she went to work beside her husband on the fishing vessel ‘Controller Bay’.
Teresa was a fitness nut and bodybuilder. She placed 4th in the National Bikini Contest and 2nd in the NW Bikini Nationals over 50 division. She also enjoyed decoration their homes in Olympia and Kona, Hawaii and enjoyed doing floral crafts. She and Dick were inseparable and had a love that was contagious. They held hands wherever they went, be it a short walk or a long stroll down the beach, they were hand in hand.
Teresa is survived by her loving friend and husband of 20 years, Dick Miller of Olympia; her mother, Sharon Bravos of Montesano; Brothers: Michael (Pam) Reeves of Aberdeen and Daryl (Patricia) Purfreest of Kirkland; Step-sisters: Milissa (Mike) Stott of Montesano, Milinda (Tom) Poole of Ocosta and Norma Walde of Aberdeen; Step-children: Garrett Miller of Seattle and Michelle Miller of Francis, Utah; Father-In-Law Francis Miller of Olympia; Mother-In-Law Shirley Miller of Hoquiam; Sister-In-Law Sherry Miller of Olympia; Brother-In-Laws: Ron Miller and Spencer Miller both of Olympia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
