Obituary for Luella Mae Thompson (Allen)

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, we lost a great lady, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, relative and friend to many. Luella Mae Allen Abbot Thompson was born at Shields, KS on April 27, 1921, the daughter of Phillip and Elsie Marie (Strickert) Allen.
She met and married Marion F. Abbott in 1943 and they moved to Aberdeen, WA to live close to her parents. They resided there for 27 years along with her 2 sons and a daughter. They divorced in 1968. She then met Shelby Thompson and they married in 1974. After moving around for several years they settled in Sequim, WA where they were happily married for 20 years before Shelby passed away in 1994.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making cookies for her many friends. She was involved with the Elks, Eagles and the Senior Center. She was very passionate about playing cards and bingo, known to holler’ bingo in her sleep. She enjoyed her huge cat collection along with her 2 felines, Muffin and Punky.
After living many years with her oldest son in her later life, it was discovered he had ALS and she moved to Montana to be cared for by her daughter at Missoula. She passed away at home with her daughter by her side.
