Obituary for Charles Arthur "Charlie" Oliver

Charles Arthur Oliver, 54, a lifelong resident of North River, died there Friday, June 5, 2015. Charlie was born July 19, 1960 in Aberdeen, the son of William and Helen (Ozhuwan) Oliver. He graduated from North River High School in 1978 and received an Associate of Arts degree in carpentry from Grays Harbor College in 1980.
He established Oliver Construction in 1980 and would later work for Grays Harbor Housing Authority until 2011. He went to Williston, ND to work in the Bakken Oil Fields.
Charlie married Debbie Miller at North River on May 13, 1989 and she survives at the family home.
He was an avid outdoorsman and liked hunt and fish. He was good at woodworking and grafting trees. He was very proud of his boys, Jeff and Brandon, and their achievements in academics, sports and their life’s work. He also designed and built a home for Debbie and his family at North River.
Besides his wife, Debbie, Charlie is survived by son: Jeff, North River, his son, Brandon, preceded Charlie in death, Nov. 22, 2012; and he is also survived by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 12th, in Fern Hill Cemetery, Menlo, near Raymond. Rev. Willis Devine of Dove Wing Ministries, will officiate. A potluck reception will follow at the family home in North River.
