Obituary for Udo R. Vogler

Udo R. Vogler, 68, a resident of the Harbor since 1996, died at Willapa Harbor Health and Rehabilitation, Raymond, Wednesday, January 30, 2013. He was born in Esslingen, Germany, November 30, 1944 and had attended school there.
He had worked in the US Army motor pool in Berlin and was married to Gabriele Weinhardt in Berlin on June 1, 1965. They came to El Paso, TX in 1968 where he worked as a mechanic for Volkswagen America. He went to Colorado Springs, CO for two years as a mechanic for a Volkswagen-Audi dealer. They came to Richland in 1978 where he was a Volkswager-Audi mechanic.
Udo went to college at Columbia Basin Community College, receiving degrees as an EMT and ER Technician through Kadlec Hospital in Richland. Health issues forced his retirement and they came to Grayland in 1996 to be near family. They moved to Leisure Manor late in 2011.
Udo worked around the house, building and repairing things. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and teaching others how to do these things.
Besides his wife, Gabriele of the family home in Aberdeen, Udo is survived by a son: Robert John and wife Rosie Vogler, Point Arena, CA; a daughter: Susanne and husband William McCann, Ocosta; and also three grandchildren: Shawn McCann, Seanna and Drake Vogler. A sister, Sonja OzOlins, died before him in 1979.
