Just on a whim I did an internet search for an old friend named Jim Laakso. I'm sorry to hear about his passing. He was a great guy. Jim and I were the closest of friends for a short period of time in the fall of 1964. We met in Lisbon, Portugal and spent the next 6 weeks hitchhiking together throughout Europe. To get people to pick us up, we dangled American flags from our wrists. See attached photo.
