Obituary for Dolores Jean Carpenter (Bresler)


Dolores J. Carpenter, 83, longtime resident of the Harbor, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born in San Francisco, CA, May 14, 1935, the daughter of Charles and Alta Lee (Shelley) Bresler.
She was raised in Missouri and graduated from Kabul, MO High School in 1953. She came with her parents to Easter Washington to do farm work. She was married to Cecil Winkler in 1954 in San Diego, CA. He died in a hunting accident near Forks, WA in 1972. She would later marry Claude Carpenter in Aberdeen and he passed away in 2001.
Dolores was a mixologist and worked at the VFW, Eagles, 40et8 and Elk’s Lodges and at the Aberdeen Spar. She also took care of her home and enjoyed the grandchildren, cooking and baking. She enjoyed crafts and the women’s group at the VFW Auxiliary.
Dolores is survived by three sons: Rick, Winkler, Central Park, Roy Winkler, Aberdeen and Randy Winkler, Federal Way, WA; a daughter: Roxanne Broten, Aberdeen; a brother: Robert Bresler, Edmonds; also 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a special friend, Joyce Hayes, Aberdeen. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Robin Tuscano, on June 23, 2018, and two brothers: Charles Bresler, Jr. and Raymond Bresler.
A graveside services for Delores and Claude were held Friday, June 6th at the Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
