DAVE REED
When you look back... Time passes so swiftly... Diane's daughter Jenny, lived 2-doors down from me 17-years ago... On Karr ave. in Hoquiam.. Through all of life's ups & downs, & both of us moving, Jenny & I have remained friends all this time, & as a result,I met, & became friends with Diane,Ray, Diane's husband, & the rest of the Family...Diane LOVED! Cooking and music... When visiting, the music seemed always playing and the .. "Hi Dave, Here try some of this".. "Taste this I just baked it!" "OH.. I just love this song!" she would say, & soon, we would all be singing along !!! (while Ray, was trying to watch TV).. Then the shadow of the disease ALS appeared... Soon, the singing stopped... The music & baking, cooking meals, continued, The speech was changed to a "white board" and marker. She continued the cooking, baking, and preparing meals.. As long as she was able.. urging me to visit, and the meals were soon prepared by others.. Still fighting the disease, She moved to feeding the birds... (there are pictures of the birds eating out of Her hands) But then, ALS prevailed again..all mobility was lost...(except her right hand) But Diane, confined to a bed in the living room, still fought back.. She spent days & some nights, watching... (You guessed it!) COOKING SHOWS!! AND "INFOMERICALS" OF "tools of the trade" pots, pans etc. Diane.. You are sorely-missed and will continue to be... Thank-you, for your long and cherished friendship... Prayers for the family..
