Your dad was a gem of a man who made a great impression on me. I can honestly say that no one else ever climbed up ladders and through 2nd story windows to "break" into a locked house for me. I'll never forget the way he acted as a surrogate grandfather for us kids, fixing our bicycle chains when they came off the teeth, giving us cookies and root beer, or enduring Lizz's never-ending harassment regarding the dangers of smoking. It was a great pleasure spending time with him when I last attended worship services at Calvary a few months ago. He will be greatly missed. Praying for peace and comfort for you as you grieve the loss of your father.
