The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ernest Edwards can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Douglas Bagaason
Condolence: Where do I start. I remember Ernest from Bailey's when I was in junior high school. I was interested in small engines, he always had time for,. I would hang out after school and on Saturdays, he would give me projects and help me through. Around 1984 I decided to go into business repairing small engines and outboard motors. Ernest was there to help me along, he would rebuild the carburetors on the larger boats for us, eventually I gained experience, he was always there to help me out. Words can't express how I was helped. He truly was my mentor. I will miss his whit, and his voice will ring in my ears always. I would like to extend my sympathy to his wife and family. Sincerely: Doug Bagaason, Doug's Small Engine Repair Inc.

Condolence From: Dave Eaton
Condolence: I am so sorry to read this about Ernie. Some of my favorite memories involve him. When we lived in south Aberdeen, he used to come over with lots of firecrackers and light them off, a whole package at a time. This wasn't necessarily around the 4th of July. He would also take me for rides on his Triumph motorcycle out onto the Westport highway. He & my Dad used to be best friends and would often prank each other. When Ernie lived in Hoquiam he had access to a pool table and taught me a bit about the game. Later he introduced me to a lot of jazz albums. I especially remember the JATP records. I was always welcome at his home. After we became neighbors on Spur Street he let me come over whenever I wanted without knocking, as if I was a family member. Even the last time I was in Aberdeen & visited with him, he & Marlene made me feel welcome. He was about 93 at the time and still able to do multiple chin-ups on a bar attached to his kitchen door frame. I couldn't manage one. He did many. Ernie was a good musician and a great friend. I will miss him.
