Obituary for Laura Jean Craig (Bunch)

Laura Jean Craig died at Pacific Care Center, Hoquiam, Thursday, March 10, 2016. She was 75. Laura was born in Oak Creek, CO, January 11, 1941, the daughter of Lester B. and Katherine (Cristelli) Bunch. The Family moved to Wishkah Valley in 1952 and graduated from Wishkah High School in 1959. Laura graduated from Dewitt Beauty School in Aberdeen.
On July 30, 1960 she married Daniel Craig in Aberdeen and he survives her at the family home.
Laura worked periodically as a beautician, preferring to be a homemaker and raising her family. She also worked at Rosie’s Deli across the street from the present day Safeway Store.
She was a member of the Bench Drive Homemakers, served as a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts, the 4-H Clubs and the JayCee’s Wives Club in Aberdeen.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and baking, and making wedding cakes. Laura loved camping and traveling with her family. She also loved animals. Most of all she enjoyed when the family was all together and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband of 55 years, Dan, Laura is survived by two sons: Steve and wife Kathy Craig, Wishkah Valley, Mark and wife Lisa Craig, Cosmopolis; a daughter: Natalie Colegrove, Lake Tapps, WA; a brother Dean and wife Janice Bunch, Montesano; three grandsons: Hunter Colegrove, Gage Craig and Dustin Izatt; and two granddaughters: Abby and Jade Craig. A son, Brian Craig, passed away last month on February 25th.
Visitation will be held from 3PM to 8PM Wednesday, March 16th in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 17th in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen. Pastor Doug Cotton of the Harbor City Church, will officiate. Private interment will take place in Fern Hill Cemetery.
