Gloria Marguerite "Peggy"  Fredericks (Erickson)
Gloria M. “Peggy” Fredericks, 89, a life-long resident of Aberdeen, died at Pacific Care Center, Monday, May 18, 2015. Peggy was born in Aberdeen on June 19, 1925, the daughter of Henrik W. and Elvira (Swanson) Erickson.
She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1943 and was married to Frank Fredericks in Aberdeen on November 8, 1944. He died here in December of 1995.
Peggy had worked for ITT Rayonier in the early 1950s and then went on to work for several bakeries in Aberdeen, among them Olympic Bakery, Langendorf and Hostess Bakery, Safeway, Albertsons and Shop-Rite Bakeries, before retiring in January 1985.
She had been a member of the Retail Clerks Union, the Eagles Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler and had played in several leagues, and later the senior league in Aberdeen. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and making baskets and picture painting.
Peggy is survived by a son and his wife: Gary and Dawn Fredericks, Kent, WA; two sisters-in-law: Norma Fredericks, Aberdeen and Betty Scheuer, Hoquiam; a brother-in-law: Charles Fredericks, Mill Creek, WA; twin granddaughters: Nena and husband Brett Hanson, Olympia, Sheri and husband Dave Rufener, Tumwater; five great grandchildren: Tiana, Kamryn, Ethan, Conner and Riley. She was preceded in death by a son: Larry Fredericks this last October, 2014; a sister: Mary Lou Richardson this last August, 2014; and a brother: William Erickson.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Noon, Tuesday, May 26th in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen. Pastor Jeff Johnson of the United Christian Church, Aberdeen, will officiate. A reception will follow the service in the Dorothy Mann Reception Room at Fern Hill Funeral Home next to the cemetery.
