From his Daughter

On April 9th 2015 my worst nightmare came true. I was told that my Dad was gone. I don't have the words to describe the pain and sadness I feel. To know that he will never come back and I will never get to hug him again and to know he will never get to tell me he loves me, hurts very much.. I'm still waiting to wake up from this nightmare.
For many years my Dad battled his demons and for the last seven years I have been battling my own next to him. Unfortunately my Dad wasn't lucky enough to overcome his. He lost his battle and his life. I'm determined to not let myself be next.
Addiction does not discriminate and will take anyone if you let it, kids from parents and parents from kids. My Dad was the most amazing Dad in the world and even at his worst I knew he loved me more than life itself. He would give anything for me to not follow in his footsteps and I will not.
I know he is proud of me for even just the small distance I have come from where I was. I promise to keep moving forward and not let this drag me back. I know it is going to be hard and I'm so beyond scared, but I know he is one of many Angles I have watching over me. I love you Dad and I already miss you so much. Rest in Peace.♥♥♥
